I had never picked a lock before Brian's Indysec talk at the Abbey a year or two ago.  At the recent CanSecWest con in Vancouver there was a lockpicking village and Gringo warrior contest.  I ended up having to make two runs through the course to keep the top spot and I walked away with a nice 7" mimo USB display.
